This model has four operating modes: DISC, ALL METAL, AUTO-NOTCH and NOTCH. Rugged design and comfortable handle with arm brace. This is a precision machine, well worth it's price. It out-performs many more expensive machines and with greater simplicity. More features then a Garrett ACE 250 and a deeper performer. Do yourself a favor and get two NIMH 9V batteries and a good charger if you take this one out a bit. It does go through batteries quick. (about 4 hours) Run sensitivity at 8 most of the time. 9 and up is very touchy unless you're in perfect soil. Never drag the coil on the ground or even through blades of grass as it's so sensitive you can trigger false signals by anything striking the coil. Could not ask for a nicer machine for this price. Extremely pleased.
